Additional Warning orders for Nantwich
Addendum Warning Order
Following discussions between the Muster Organiser, the Chairman of the Board of Safety, the Senior Powder Master and the Chairman of the Musket Inspectorate the following procedures/rules will now apply in respect of black powder at the Holly Holy Day muster.
Powder issue will now commence at the following times not 11.30 a.m. as per the Warning Order published in the October/November 2009 edition of E Orders of the Day.
Artillery 12.00 p.m.
Musketeers/Dragoons 12.15 p.m.
Any Artillery unit drawing powder for this event must ensure that they are in possession of the necessary RCA documentation to enable the transportation of that powder to the battlefield.
Any Musketeer/Dragoon who draws black powder for this event must take part in the march of the Armies to the battlefield via the Memorial Service in the Town Centre. Under no circumstances are individuals/units to make their own way to the Battlefield whilst in possession of black powder.
Once a member has drawn powder that member must under no circumstances leave the Mallbank School grounds with the powder other than as part of the Armies marching to the battlefield via the Memorial Service in the Town Centre. The Armies will depart from the school at 1.00 p.m. prompt.
At the end of the battle all unused black powder must be returned to the Powder Master on the field. Musket block commanders are to ensure that they obtain a plastic container for this purpose at Powder Issue. No individuals/units are to exit the field until the Powder Master has signalled that all unused black powder has been collected.
Any member found to be carrying powder either off of the Mallbank School grounds/battlefield or out with of the marching Armies will have their powder confiscated immediately and will subsequently be reported to both the Board of Safety and the Musket Inspectorate.
These procedures/rules must be strictly adhered to, otherwise disciplinary action will follow.

Roger's operation
Hello Everybody,
This is Christine signing in for Roger. We had a lovely holiday in Bulgaria.
Roger has his operation last Thursday (8th) to remove a lump in the salivery gland. Roger had a bad re-action to the anaesthetic after as he was on the slab for 5 hours. The body shut down and he had more wires, drips, oxygen tubes etc than I've ever seen!!! Fortunately, they managed to stabilise him and later the surgeon and anaesthetist told him that he is a resilient and tough old bu***r! He's home now and it's wonderful because he can't talk (don't really mean it). I'm just glad he's home in one piece. He has to see the nurse on Tuesday and wait for a letter from the surgeon telling him when to go back and see him. I don't know how to put a photo on to the blog, so I'm emailing it seperately to Gail, hopefully she can combine the message and photo into one. It's a photo Roger insisted I took of the wound because it would be hard to describe it as it looks like a zip on the side of his face. He only needs a bolt in the neck to be a real Frankinsteinish bloke.
Hope everybody else is O.K. Roger sends his regards to everyone in the P.T.A. and he needs some TLC next Season.
Best wishes from Christine (Wass)

York
Weston Super Mare Muster
With locust on one end and Arnie on the other the fort was dominated by the PTA.
On the Sunday Arnie was taken by Gerard's at the end of the battle, this involved the gun going over the front of the 15m fortifications, this worked well.
the battle took place on the beach and the sand castle is being claimed as the largest ever built at 15m high and 100 m long with a moat around it 10,000 tonnes of sand was moved in its construction.
Black Dog II the new party tent made it out for the first time and worked very well, shame about the rain on the Monday.
Some of the Explorers scrubbed up very well.
1st Bradninch Explorer Scout Pack came along for the weekend, they were drilled by Charles Gerard's Regiment on Sunday morning.

Easter at Clyst Hydon
Over the winter one of the oak treas in a neighbouring field came down, a nice straight log;
we have been given permission to use some of the wood if it is of any use to us.
at Easter a small and intrepid band set out with the two handed saw to section a length that we would like to get planked for a future project.
all went well the next stage will be to remove the log to the saw mill.
Every one had a chance to have a go.
